The past two days have been absolutely incredible for gobbling activity, and I’ve seen a fair amount of birds out there strutting as well. This weather is more representative of what we see during late May as well, so maybe they’re just confused?

Stable, clear weather is definitely welcome. Hopefully we see some poults in the next week or two.

Yep, Rufus and I went and moved a sprinkler on one of my food plots yesterday morning before work and I could hear a hen yelping and she was coming closer. I knew a Tom roosted close by the night before when I was out there. This hen would not shut up, she was loud and vocal. All of a sudden that Tom Gobbles and decides not to stop. He is gobbling 2-3 times in a row every 15 seconds now. She gets a little quieter, but still teasing this Tom. I grab Rufus and we hide behind the 4 wheeler as she has to be almost to the edge of this little 1/2 acre plot. Sure enough she pops out and the Tom is still gobbling. 30 seconds later here he comes in Full strut out into the plot. Pretty cool way to start the day. It just reminds me never go anywhere with out my camera again.

Stupid turkeys better not be eating my Deer’s food.

We went camping in Plum City last Saturday night and the toms were lighting up all around us Sunday morning.

hadn’t seen any turkeys all season where we work, then this morning had two strutters in the field. It’s going to be a long wait until next year!

I saw turkeys and herd them every day last week in the same field and same time everyday. 2 out of 7 the tom was in full strut. then 2 more days half strut. and the rest he was walking along slide the field to get into the woods. now why couldn’t i have found them in 4th season.
