……….but unfortuanatly we did not recover it. We got out to our spot around five and the bird was already strutting around so we hurried up as quick as we could. With in 30 min he was between ten to fifteen yards. Put it right above his legs and released. Thought it was a great shot. He went about 100 yards and just stood there. Then he ran across a field about 300 yards and went into a fence line. We gave him about 30 minutes and went after him. My buddy tried pushing him down the fenceline to me but he jumped him and he flew another 300 yards into the nearest woods. Through all of this he still had my arrow in him, the arrow went just to the nock. Looked for a good hour and a half and no luck. I got it all on video. If i can figure out how to post it i will.

They are definitely one of the hardest animals to kill with a bow My friends mom shot a jake tonight and must have missed the vitals because he ended up getting out of range after the shot and went back to feeding with the other jakes he was with Its tough but you gotta keep at it

Getting a bow shot at 10 yds is quite a feat…..too bad about the bummer results though. Are turkeys that hard to kill?
