That I should’ve waited for a longbeard. My season started this morning with a the wind already blowing hard at 4:45 along with a little rain. I already had my spot picked out to place my blind and decoys so setup in the dark went well. The wind made the only 2 gobbles I heard very difficult to hear but I was optimistic as they were within 150yrds. After fly down I heard my one last gobble. At 9:00am after no action I thought I would sneek to the edge of the neighbors feild as I approached I saw 20+ hens in single file with 4 toms bringing up the rear. They dissapeared onto yet another landowners property. So I returned to my blind and let out a few yelps and within 10 minutes had 4 jakes come in and interact with my setup. I watched them for 30 minutes or so and they were in no hurry to leave. I’ve always let them walk in the past but in the back of my mind I was thinking if I fill my tag now I’ll have that many more vacation days for my true passion in the fall, besides after seeing those toms leave my hunting area it made it much easier for me. I also had a visitor at the back of the blind so I zipped the door open a bit and snapped his pic. Randy
