Well its getting close and man im pumped . The Mathews DXT is ready to rock. Ive been practicing my mouth call for about a mounth now. Whats everyones go to calls? I like a slate and a mouth call, I do use a owl hooter to locate birds also. Anouther call i use is a box call to locate birds. You can get out farther with the box than you can a slate when you need to find a bird. When im on the bird and set up I go to my slate and mouth call. Sometimes I run them both at the same time for that held up tom. I cluck with the slat and purr with my mouth call it works well for me on that held up worried ol tom. What do the rest of you use and why?

Tony, slow down and take a deep breathe!

Good Topic Tony, I use what ever the guy calling for me wants to use.

I may bring them all, but will only use what the situation requires. Windy situations I will use the box call for locating and then switch to either a slate or mouth call…depending on how far the bird is. I found you can’t have too many calls. Each is used for certain situations and the birds will dictate what they want. Sometimes, they just won’t respond to anything! But just to be on the safe…get as many calls as you can and practice practice practice!
