Its been awhile since I’ve gone turkey hunting and thats only been in the fall. I think this spring I might try going with my shotgun. Usually when bowhunting for deer in the fall Id buy a turkey tag but have never gone in the spring, this year I might. How mnay guys are or might go this spring.

I’m going in May. In my opinion it is more fun going in the spring then the fall.

I will be out in April with my 12-year old and my tag is for May. My son and I will both be using the scatter guns.

I have never hunted them in the fall, too many other things going that I don’t have enough time to do

I will be going in May also. Awesome weather, beautiful mornings. Hearing those birds make their first gobble early in the mornings gets the heart pumping. Theres almost nothing like it. Especially when you hear three or four or more calling from all directions.

I have always hunted the G season and have had the best luck. I will always get out there at least an hour before sunrise and start calling as soon as the first hint of light or after I hear that first bird. Later in the season where I hunt the birds will go the other way if I do not make myself heard first. I have also had to get very aggressive with the birds since they are not as interested sometimes. There has been a couple of times when the bird is 50 yards out and will take an hour or more to get them to come in a little more. Hunting pressure could make that more difficult maybe, never had to deal with that. I have also had some luck late in the evening if I know where they are traveling or roosting.

    Good Luck.

I’m going in April in WI and May in MN…both with bow in hand! Nothing better than harvesting a gobbler with archery equipment!

I going to South Dakota, Wis., and Mn. Had plans to go to Nebraska but I just don’t have enough money or time. To many people getting married. (including myself)

I love to turkey hunt. I have only taken two birds with my bow but I will never pick up a shotgun again.

The gobble is probably the best noise that has ever come out of the woods.

    Good luck to all.

I will be Archery Hunting in MN during Season A in the Metro Zone. I hope I will also be Archery Hunting in Pepin County WI in May. I also might just get done with chores in time in SD to be able to go after a Merriam in April on the edge of the Black Hills!

I would have to agree with that…for the spring time. And in fall nothing is better than the sound of a buck grunting!

I will be able to compare this spring as it will be my first turkey hunt, 3rd season MN.

I’m hoping to experience that this September when I’m in Colorado bowhunting them! But you will definately enjoy the rush you’ll get of a morning gobble off the roost! Or the distant gobble of a tom as he gets closer and closer to your set!

gotta love watching and hearing the woods wake up on a spring morning, and the anticipation of the gobblers finally cutting loose.
i say it every year, but maybe this will be the year i concentrate on getting one with the bow.

I will be hunting with a bow in MN and WI this year. I’m hoping to catch some hunts on video too.

This of course is dependent on whether or not my camera guy can go… Lip?
