Warm Spell – Turkeys Feeding

Birds were out yesterday in droves! Always amazes me how at times, the turkeys seem to be non-existant during the cold spells we often have in Jan./Feb. Starts to get me worried; wanting to hunt some coyotes and take the winter pressure off of them a bit if I can.

Then, my worries for the spring season are lifted with the first warm day. They truly were everywhere, and in small groups roaming without a care, rather than large, tight flocks working from one area to another.

    Anyone else seeing birds?

I saw several flocks on my way back from ice fishing yesterday! They look healthy and plenty of them! Come on spring!

I read that in hard times (cold and deep snow…) wild turkeys can go 21-28 days WITHOUT food…Truely amazing birds…RR

Me too….. oh wait, it says “days” not minutes… I too have been seeing the flocks out again along hwy 15
