I use the narrow beam on my LX-5 when I am punching holes and looking for break lines or weed edges. It gets me closer to the structure I am targeting. I will also use the dual beam when fishing deep water amongst a lot of other flashers to cut down on interference.

It is just one of the features I am happy to have with the LX-5.

When fishing in weeds I use the narrow beam all the time. While fishing steep breaks I use the Narrow Beam all the time. When I am fishing near other units, I use the narrow beam all the time. When I am fishing trees or brush piles I use the narrow beam all the time.

Other than that, I use the 20 degree.

On that Trophy Bluegill show we filmed last year, it would be impossible to fish those bull gills without the narrow beam or a camera. If you put a flasher down without a narrow beam, all you see are trees, hit the NB and you are good to go. Not all lakes work well for camera’s so having that dual beam is a life saver

If you can afford the dual beam, it is worth every penny and then some!!

I use the dual beam all the time on my Vex. Beyond what these guys mentioned…in the house, check out the other lines. I use it on breaks all the time as well. After having the dual beam, not sure I’d want to go back.

Must have feature for me, I had it on my 18 before I switched to the lx-5. I couldn’t go without. I am always pushing buttons on my 5 to see what can give me a better look below the ice.

    What the all said…

Although once I change to NB..I generally leave it there.

It’s like fine tuning of a water column. Wouldn’t be without it now that I’ve used it.

With deer season fast approaching and the geese flying, I figured I would take the first good bird I could get close to. We put a good flock to bed last night, and at first light this morning I clucked them out into the corn. This huge hen made me, and scattered the rest of the birds. I can see how folks get hooked on this!!!!

She was the old queen of the flock. She was bigger than the jakes and other hens by a long shot.
What I really enjoyed was putting them to bed last night, and knowing exactly where they would be in the AM. The talking them into the field was a blast.

I did the Spring hunt once and almost got shot by a guy hunting public land near Wabasha. This land I have now is safe, and lots of birds so I think I will try the Spring again now.

I have seen these birds all Spring and Summer. I am seriously thinking of going at them with the crossbow next Fall.
