OK guys, how often do you practice on you calls and where.

My wife sort of gets sick of me calling in the house even though I did call in her first and only turkey. (she shot one,it was cool, but not her cup of tea).

My season is not till the first week of May but I have had my mouth calls in one of my pockets for at least 3 weeks.
I do a lot of driving for work so that is my practice area.

Also, It’s fun on warm days to pull up next to a car with the window down and give a couple of yelps and they look around, turn down there radio, and rev the engine a little bit to see if it’s there car making that noise, but if that person is a turkey hunter they just look over and give me a little smirk.
Doesn’t take much to entertain me.

I’ve been practicing since late Feb. And now since the weather has gotten nicer I’ve moved outside (which the wife really likes)! I can’t get enough practice in though!

Good luck to you during your season!

I also practice in the truck for about a month or two before the season but I always get new mouth calls before I get out in the woods. All that use can damage the true tone of the call. When my season is over I toss the old ones and practice with the new ones. Good luck!!

I do mine mostly in the truck while driving. I was practicing in the garage at the in-laws this past weekend until I got yelled at by my mother in law. Needless to say I won’t be doing that anymore.

    PS I need the practice.
