Its 10:40am…..I am very frustrated with this DNR system . Nobody will answer the phone at the DNR and the license portion of the website doesnt work – its a joke, they should just give the licenses out to the people that apply instead of letting the whole state fight over them like pack of wolves on a little scrap of meat…in a system that cant handle the load of requests. For god sakes, this is turkeys we are talking about here….they are everywhere. You should be able to buy the tag over the counter without applying….Thanks, I needed to vent

They were suppose to have fixed that problem with new software!

    Direct from the DNR website:

The permits can be purchased: over the Internet through the Online Licensing Center – new software has greatly speeded response times; at DNR service centers during their regular business hours (check service center link for hours of operation, which vary by service center; service centers are closed Saturdays); and at automated license issuance system sales locations. Hunters may also call toll-free 1-877-WI LICENSE (1-877-945-4236).

I’m guessing that didn’t work! I know guys that went down to the DNR office earlier this morning and sat outside!

    Absolutely rediculous!

Every year it’s the same thing.

I stood in line at Gander Mountain for an hour and just got back home without a lic!

There is no excuse not to stress test the application before you release it into production. And it’s not that difficult to create a system that can handle this type of data. I work in the IT industry and sell a lot of these type of projects so I know it can be done.

Let’s see…. they’ve been working on this system for three years!!!

Mark, IF you happen to be really lucky and actually get a hold of someone at the DNR office, they will most likely tell you that they use the same system over the internet just like us and then they will complain that it’s down.

The guys that I was saying got up early this morning to get a license…..well, they didn’t get one. There numbers in line were 63 & 64….and when they decided to leave, the DNR was on number 4! They said it took between 20 to 25 minutes to wait on a person!

I finally got my tag and Tina’s tag at Gander Mtn. They were kind enough to take my information down and processed it for me. They said they repeatedly entered information into the DNR system and only got about 15 done over the course of 6 hours.
