I got it done once again for the 12th time in 8 years on public land. I hunt public for turkeys because in my opinion it is more of a challenge. He came in full strut and one pull of the trigger from the shotgun he was laying on the ground. He weighed 20lbs had a double beard one 9 inches and the other was 9 1/2. Also had 3/4 inch spurs.

Nice bird!, We do have some good public ground here in Iowa. Lots of times little pressure at all and the deer huntings pretty good on public land too. Congradulations

Congrats on the nice bird, around here most don’t take advantage of public land for turkeys but come deer season I’ll stay as far away as possible. Great job!

That’s a big bearded turkey for 9 1/2!! most guys you hear that shoot a double beard are low in inches, not yours
