Well after a bad year of rain during last years turkey season my wife and I had our hopes up for this year. Our season started Tuesday and I went solo as my wife Stacey had to work..We both had the week off after that for hunting. I got to my spot and had the blind all set up at about 5:05 a.m. It was very foggy so tough to see twenty yrds in front of me. Started callin at about 6:05 and at 6:18 I had a tom fly to my decoy and a tom and 3 hens fly in a tree next to me. I shot the tom and it was down by 6:18..Called Stacey who was happy for me and upset she wasnt there. Today, Wed. both stacey and I were in the blind good and early..Stacey saw a Tom chasin a hen behind us just at legal shootin hours..After a bit of callin a nice Tom came right for the Hen decoy..Stacey put the gun up and had a perfect head shot at 26yrds..The bird was down at 6:40 a.m..made for a quick season I think I was happier then she was..This is both our 2nd year hunting and both our 1st birds…I cant explain how proud I am of her..to try something I enjoy…(hunting)..put the time in with me scouting and now she has success…shes hooked now…now if I can get her to pick up a bow for deer hunting..hopefully the picks work…Jay
