Well after a bad year of rain during last years turkey season my wife and I had our hopes up for this year. Our season started Tuesday and I went solo as my wife Stacey had to work..We both had the week off after that for hunting. I got to my spot and had the blind all set up at about 5:05 a.m. It was very foggy so tough to see twenty yrds in front of me. Started callin at about 6:05 and at 6:18 I had a tom fly to my decoy and a tom and 3 hens fly in a tree next to me. I shot the tom and it was down by 6:18..Called Stacey who was happy for me and upset she wasnt there. Today, Wed. both stacey and I were in the blind good and early..Stacey saw a Tom chasin a hen behind us just at legal shootin hours..After a bit of callin a nice Tom came right for the Hen decoy..Stacey put the gun up and had a perfect head shot at 26yrds..The bird was down at 6:40 a.m..made for a quick season I think I was happier then she was..This is both our 2nd year hunting and both our 1st birds…I cant explain how proud I am of her..to try something I enjoy…(hunting)..put the time in with me scouting and now she has success…shes hooked now…now if I can get her to pick up a bow for deer hunting..hopefully the picks work…Jay

Atta boy Jaybird and you too Stacie. The fun was over almost too fast by the sounds of it. That is a primo site! Now if I can beat the football team to it you’ll be getting a call early also.

You and your wife had better luck than my wife and me! I got one early on but we had trouble seeing birds after that! Congrats to the both of you!

Way to go bud!! I’m itching to get out myself. Coppertop made easy work of it this morning. Season begins Friday for me. I can’t wait to try and get one w/ the new gun I purchased. Especially since it alrady has 2 kills under it’s belt. Oh, yeah. Coppertop gave me the “checkmate” text and dubbed the gun “Dead Nuts”. i don’t even want to know. Congrats again on the great hunts
