Well its underway missouri 4-15 4-18. monday morning starting out beautifull. not a cloud in the sky. we (my 14yearold daughter) got in a bit late set up and boom they were gobbling like mad. I was talking seductive to the redheads. we thought they liked it but you guessed it the pitched the other way. they were tight on the roost untill @6.15 then we had a few hens fly down to our setup but they were alone. by 6.20 they were all down hit the ground and got lockjaw we didnt here a sound. I called alittle not much so we keep on working it. It seemed like forever according to my daughter when we heard a hen started calling back to her, then from the corner of my eye i got a glimpse of a white knob i whispered to her slowly look to your right. she was a bit lower and couldnt quit see. then all of the sudden I hear what sounds like a wind storm she was breathing so fast and loud I knew that she saw him. much to my surprise ther was 2 now I am panting just as hard while I am telling her to slowly get hte gun up and take a deep breath. This is the perfect hunt father daughter call im in off the roost and double. it cant get any better. she said she was ready, were sitting side by side shoulder to shoulder. 1 2 3 boom. She was done 6.45 am. what a great day she gets her turkey and I get to continue hunting for 2 more great days of clear mornings and tons of gobbles.
