Well, here it is. The contest you’ve all been waiting for.

This time around, we won’t be judging based on measurements of beard length, weight or spur length.

What we are looking for is your 2007 Turkey photos. Along with the photo we are asking all entrants submit a small story about the hunt. The winner will be voted on by a panel of judges from IDO. The pic & the story will all be considered when deciding a winner for the contest.

Like most photo contests, the pics will have to be of good taste and convey the spirit of the hunt. The best pic you can take will be one of you in the field with the Turkey using the scenery as your backdrop. Pics of the bird in the back of a truck probably won’t cut it.

I’ll post more on this Monday. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to post them here.

I was going to ask the same thing…but upon thinking it through, I think the photo is only fair to the hunters who do not video! But the video would be neat to see either way!

Is there a sign-up for this? Or you just enter when (if) you have a picture to enter?

Also…………Am I missing something with this being called the IDO (not IDA) contest????

More details will come shortly. Alls you need to do is enter a picture of your Spring 2007 Turkey Harvest. No need to sign up, just submit the photo when you harvest your bird(s). Details to come.

2JR, IDO (In-Depth Outdoors) is the Parent company to IDA. The long range plan is to have a In-Depth Hunting and In-Depth Angling operating under In-Depth Outdoors. If you notice the videos and TV shows are all called IDO. Just trying to stay on the cutting edge and listen to what the people want.

James is working his tail off right now to get things in place but his time is stretched thin with the TV shows right now.

There’s no need to “sign up.” Just post a pic from the 2007 Turkey Season along with a pic of your 2007 Turkey License. So that’s 2 pics for entry.

If you do happen to film the hunt, and you wish to share it with the crowd here on IDA, http://www.youtube.com is a great place to host the footage. Video footage won’t be eligible for entry, but is encouraged for submission.

Prizes? Not sure yet. I’m sure we’ll put something together.

If you have any troubles posting pics, feel free to email them to:

    [email protected]

    or

    [email protected]

Lastly, this contest is based on an Honor System. Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified.

Here’s some great poses you can use for the Turkey Contest.

If you want to sway Jason Halfen’s vote, pics like this one will do it.

I will try and get my pick in here but I was successful after five straight 3:30 mornings and full days at work. WHEW!!! The switchback and I (me) hit the mark. I saw many big toms but just couldnt get close enough for the bow and on the fifth morning two jakes gave me an oppertunity to take my first turkey ever and with a bow to boot. I missed the contest but had to post somthing. good luck all..

Today I believe. I’ll be collecting the photos this week. With a little luck, we’ll have a winner by the end of the week.

If anyone who posted a pic and wants to enter just let me know or post your pic here.
