Has anyone shot the new Bowtech Guardian or Commander? Man I did, and now I own one. They are and amazing bow! NO HANDSHOCK!!! I have always been a Mathews guy, but these are incredible. I don’t even like shooting my old bow anymore. These bows crank out arrows with no noise either! I sound like a Bowtech rep right now don’t I? (I’m not). Anyway, try shooting one of these and let me know what ya think!

I too, was very impressed with how quiet the Guardian shoots, but definitely not impressed with the funky design. Obviously could be overlooked. I still like my Mathews too much to make a switch at this time. Good Luck with your new bow. By the way, what model Mathews did you have?

March 16, 2007 at 3:17 pm #29866I’m a Matthews guy, but the new Bowtech’s are definitely impressive. All of the new bows are unbelievable. The progress that these bow companies have made in the past 10 years is phenominal. The inexpensive stuff you can buy at the supercenters are many times better than what I used to kill deer with.

I shot a Q2XL. I still like the bow, it’s just not the Bowtech. I kinda feel like a traitor because I’ve shot Masthews for 6 yrs.

Just curious. I’m not saying one bow is better than the other (Mathews/Bowtech/Hoyt) as I feel this is personal preference issue. But from what you have stated, here you are comparing a 1982 Chevy/Ford whatever Pick up vs. a Brand new Sparkling 2007 of a Different brand. The technology that all these bow makers have experienced in the last 7 years is incredible. Your old Mathews came out in 2000. How can you compare that to any 2007 bow no matter what the model is???
As I siad this is not a Brand Issue, but have you shot a new Matthews or Hoyt Bow? To give them a fair comparison to a Bowtech???
Like I said just curious.

March 16, 2007 at 10:15 pm #29889personal experience and opinion, i would buy either the Guardian or the Trykon from Hoyt. Considering they are both dual cam compared to the solo cam, they are quieter than the switchback XT. I think mathews is a joke, but i don’t want to get something started for those out there that shoot a mathews, just my 2 cents

Hey Lip, I have shot the new Mathews Drenalin and it had more hand shock and noise than the Bowtech. Don’t get me wrong, Mathews is a GREAT company. I don’t mean to sound like I am bashing them. I’ve had two of there bows and loved them. I had no intentions of buying a Bowtech. Just happened to be with a friend who wanted to look. One shot and that was all it took. I beleive Mathews took a step backwards with the Drenalin, which is their 2007 model.
