I’m not 100% sure but, I think that it will not affect your precedence. In order for that to change you have to get your first choice. Your second one is only a backup for incase you don’t get your first choice that year, so that you can still hunt but next year your odds will be better at getting your first choice. It is their way to make things a little more fair and equal.

2007. Individuals or members of parties can apply for a second choice area and time period (time period F, G, or
H only). All members of a party must indicate the same area and time period for their second choice. If an
applicant purchases a license for either the first or second choice, their preference returns to 0. If an applicant is
picked for either the first or second choice and does not purchase the license a new preference point is not

Alright then, that’s what I thought. My mistake for picking that last season, should have read more before applying.
You just never know about the weather this time of year. I just remember it being nearly 100 def out last year on Memorial Day.
