My brother and I did our best to fill our tags, and my brother happened to down his on the third shot at about 60 yards on Saturday. This guy had a 10 1/2 inch beard and was 26 pounds! We found it tough going trying to get the boys away from the hens. One of the hardest weeks of turkey hunting I’ve had thus far, but still alot of fun. We have a couple of birds that I think will go well over 30+ next year..if they survive that is.

We were off hunting seperate so I wasn’t there….and he decided to travel lite that day so he left his videocamera at home! That must have been the key to success though…I took my camera and tripod every day and didn’t get any footage. 
Makes for alot of gear to carry besides the gun, calls and decoys! Got a good workout though and it was a lot of fun! I’m going to catch up with my brother next weekend to see if his daughter can bag one…I’ll have the camera in hand then too!

That is a nice looking bird. From the feedback I have been getting, it has been tough all over this area. The guys have been hearing very little gobbling, so that makes it tough to find them. Out of the guys I work with, only 2 have tagged out. 1 was a nice 25# and the other was a jake. I still have to wait until the first part of May before I go, if I even go.
