I need recommendations. I have 4-5 turkey fans that need to be displayed but haven’t gotten around to it…
They are simple to make if you have some basic tools and woodworking know-how. I made these last year out of some reasonable curly maple that I had lying around. I just looked online for ideas and kind of came up with my own design.
The smaller of the two “arched pieces” stands 3/4 of an inch off of the rear piece using a standoff piece. The tail is sandwiched between and this hides the cured ends of the fan.
It took me a couple of nights in the shot to knock these out including routed edge and stain/poly. A nice, enjoyable project and cheaper than paying $50+ each for them.
I attached the shotgun shell and the beard to the bottom of each plaque. I’ll have to shoot a picture of that tonight.
If you want to buy them, I found lots of examples on eBay for reasonable prices.

I used these guys last year several to choose from and very reasonable comes with complete mounting instructions as well.
