I picked up 4 of walleye nations search baits. Same concept just lead and not tungsten.

I’ve tried the walleye nations creations ones : tangle worse than a blade bait . Put me in the hate crowd .

This. Not so sure I hate them yet. The Kalins version is a slightly different design and does not tangle as much. If casting, both require a little finesse.

Not to hijack, I’m curious on the Kalin’s and posted a similar question a few weeks ago…but these Berkely Finishers have me really curious

To keep those baits from tangling, you have to lob the cast and right before it hits the water stop the line with your finger. It will straighten the bait out in the air and you get way less tangles.

Have a couple. Only really fished them one time. Like Jeff, I had trouble with tangling and figured out the lob cast worked best. The bait does catch fish, I kept it tied to the rod.

It’s a great design. Like a compact crawler harness. I couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money so I made my own out of some old jig heads, beads, smile blades, and a slow death hook. I troll them at 1-1.4mph and have had good success with them.

I’ve done something like this…tied a crawler harness and cast it. Works great in low flow on the river. If I need weight, either run a short dropper like a 3 way or, add a bullet weight above the harness. I mess around with the blade types and the beads but I’m not sure how much that matters.

We cast Dubuques quite a bit in the summer.
