Tuned up custom rod or St Croix custom rod?

Go touch and feel both brands and see what YOU like not what 100 people from a forum like. As many people have said there are many good rod building companies and independent rod builders in the area and you would be happy with most of them.

This is really good advice. If you can make it to a Scheels store, you can handle most of the high end rod options. For Tuned Up, you can always stop into our shop in Coon Rapids to get hands on experience with our rods.

I own 4 TUCR and 3 St Croix… Never even took the Croix out this last winter.

Definetly go handle the rods in person and get a feel for them. I just bought my first tucr and I was dead set on ordering a power precision. I went to scheels to see if they had them in stock and they had the regular precision and power. After handling them both the regular precision felt better for me.

Croix custom ice rods are as good as any out there in my experience.

I have a lot of St Croix open water rods but I think they have slipped in my opinion. I just got 2 brand new Commanders from John and I’m blown away at how well they are made. Ultra light, massive backbone, perfect guides, incredible craftsmanship.
