Not much but you won’t regret going longer. More blank to fight the fish and to keep them pinned. For walleye I wouldn’t suggest going any lower than 32”
I agree with Stas- go as long as you can get away with. More length makes a more effective rod overall. All these little 24-28″ rods off the shelf drive me nuts personally. I can’t go shorter than 32.
The tip action will be the same on any length of the rod, but the backbone will be reduced when you get shorter. That’s why we don’t offer any less than 28″ unless specically requested. IMO 32″ is the sweetspot for most of our rods. Exceptions would be the Vulcan, LTP, and arguably Commander. All of my rods are 32″ and I am quite content with that.
