Was all set to fish Leech but for a variety of reasons am looking at other lakes. BTW why are tullies the best? What other species in the midwest can you go out and maybe get 100lbs of that fish? James got that much in Lakers but will you? Also most likely you will catch more of whatever you are fishing for in the open water. Tullies- think that because they are so nearsighted the ice fishing thing is so well suited for them. Anyway blast to fish for them, taste great smoked too. Thanks

Mille Lacs right now is seeing a massive population of tullie’s this year. Not seen for the last several years. For certain, a good sign for that lake. Lyback’s report from a few days ago…

“Some fishermen were seeing schools upon schools of Tullibee out there but could not get them to go. I think the bug hatch is not happening yet or is so small that the fish aren’t interested.”

Not sure if/when they’d be ready to go? Some other reports from other areas of the lake have posted pic’s of nice catches of the stinkers.

Ice conditions still remain very good with plenty of ice and travel out there relatively easy.

I was just at Denny’s Resort on Winnibigoshish and they showed us a spot that was just loaded with them. Put the vexilar down and they were all up and down the water column in 43 FOW. We weren’t really interested in catching them, more out there for perch. We caught 4 in about 5 minutes and left.
