Found some of the nicest tullibee I’ve ever seen, I mean not one worm Out of the ten I kept! Heading out in the morning with my oldest daughter and my boss and his kid. Besides smoking them have you ever baked or fryed them ? How much different could they really be from whitefish. Not that I would know the difference never having caught a whitefish but hear they are really good. I am definitely going to experiment with a few, maybe fish cakes. Can’t be worse than bat !

    Fish dip
1 smoked tulibee pulled apart into flakes
8 oz package of cream cheese softened
    salt
    dill
    1/4 onion diced
    mayo

Mix smoked tulibee and cream cheese, add mayo to soften mixture so it is easy to spread on a cracker. Add dill and salt to taste. Makes a pint jars worth refidgerate for 24 hours then spread on cracker of choice.

Also smoked whitefish cakes, choose any recipe, pan fry, put on toast with a tarter sauce and a leaf of lettuce goes over very well.

That looks like a fun day on the lake. Tullibee’s are fun to catch and are excellent smoked. When I was young I lived close to Morey’s smoke house in Motley. Back then they would allow people to bring them their fish and they would smoke them for you for next to nothing. A bunch of us kids would bring them lots of them to smoke for us. Smoked they actually freeze well.

First batch is out of the smoker. Wife is bringing home cream cheese to try a spread. I have not been real happy with my Bradley digital smoker. I can’t seem to get a deep golden color , not like my old wood fired smoker.

Thanks . They taste real good. I air dried them out side for four hours before smoking for the pellice to form, worked real well.
