Tullibee bite on north side of Mille Lacs.

  • #2021590

Is anyone having any luck with the tullibees on the north side of the pond? I’m new to Mille Lacs and I’m trying to figure out a couple good places for them. any tips? Is there a specific depth that they are liking and any certain baits that they are keying in on. Are there are any good spots right off the main road (ice highway) that have active fish. I know that a lot of landings are closing. I’m kinda looking for a place that I can easily drive my 4-wheeler but will have good fish. Any tips or even criticism welcome.

Generally they are suspended over deep water. 30 plus ft. There should be very little traffic out there now so if you can get out you can pick your spot and going right off a road should not be a problem. Probably have to use your electronics and move around until you find them.

FYI-pike are still open out there-once I found the tullies I would set up a tippy in that zone, could even attract or hold tullies in that area. Some are thinking an open water area would not be the best area for pike- True but, pike go wherever the h*** they want, and any pike chasing tullies will be BIG. Have fun.
