TUCR vs. Thorne Bros

After the holidays I am going to be buying a custom ice rod. I have kind of narrowed it down to these two. I would like it to be a walleye rod. Just curious because I know lots of you have used TUCR but has anyone used Thorne bros? And if so, which did you like better?

Tucr’s Commander is a pretty perfect eye rod. I also want to try the jt gold digger. U can’t go wrong w any of them. They hold their value well. Usually can sell them down the road for around 70% of purchase price

    Put your hands on both.
I have a few Thorne rods and can’t say anything bad about them. I still have a power noodle that is over 15 yrs old. No issues. I do not have any other custom rods so I can’t tell you if they are better or not.

Honestly, I don’t think there is a difference in quality. They both make great rods that you will be happy with. Hold both in your hands and pick the one that feels better to you. I think Thorne Bros may have more options for guide and handle types.

What is the cost for such a rod from either one?

I own several of both. They both make excellent rods. I think these days I’d give the nod to TUC. Thorne Bros set the standard many years ago. I think TUC has raised that standard. I like my older Thorne brothers noodle much better than my most recent one. I believe they have changed the blanks they are now using
