TUCR Quick Tip

Late last season I took plunge and invested in 3 TUCR rods, a Bullwhip, Precision Noodle, and a Quick Tip. My thoughts were I’d use the PN and Bullwhip for jigs up to 5MM tungstens, and the Quick Tip for spoons and panfish sized Rippin Raps and the like. I fish the Mississippi river backwaters for gils, crappie, and perch, nothing terribly deep. Based on the comments I’m wondering if I made a mistake on the Quick Tip and should have went with the Fusion for the spoon/RR rod. Thoughts?

The QT is my favorite panfish rod. I use it for light 1/16th oz spoons mostly. I also have the Fusion and have not really found a place for it where I don’t prefer the Precision or QT in the same application.

I think the QT would work fine for those presentations. The QT is one of my favorite rods.

Thank you! I needed to be resold on it. Sometimes you can read one too many comments. I need to get out and start using it more.

I find the quick tip to be my go to crappie rod. I like the Fusion for smaller walleye presentations. I need to add a precision to my lineup.

You bought 3 good ones to have and in my opinion you can have 3 different size profiles tied on and ready to go.

Precision Noodle – small hair style jig.

    Bullwhip – jig and plastic

Quick Tip – 1/16 to 1/12 flutter spoon.

To be honest I’m a run n gun hole hopper and have 6 rods ready at all times, but 90% of the time I’m using the three you bought.

The QT is my favorite rod, but you gotta be careful with it. You can’t lift fish out of the hole with it like you can the bullwhip or noodle. Being a graphite rod and an extremely fast tip, just watch out for that tip. I’ve had mine for 6 years and haven’t had a problem, but figured I’d try to prevent some heartbreak.
    Good luck.
