I recently purchased a TUCR BUllwhip and when talking to a buddy he asked y I didn’t go with a Precision. I told him I plan on getting a Precision before the end of the month. He only wants one and was wondering what the differences r between the 2. We know glass vs carbon but any other differences? We fish primarily trout. He loves the look and feel of my new bullwhip but he has been recommended to get the precision as had I. Any info on the differences would be awesome!!

Bull whip in my opinion is for your smaller fish. Precision is a good do everything rod. I would recommend calling Jon and have him fit you to your needs. After all that is why your going with a custom rod and not a off the shelf unit. Custom means service and that is something Jon shines at.

I would call and tell them exactly what kind of fishing you are going to do and they will set you up correctly. This is how I view them:
    Noodle: ultra light
Bullwhip: light but with noodle tip
    Precision: medium light
    Precision Power: medium

My understanding was that the bull whip is designed for walleyes. It is a medium precision with a noodle tip. I have a 30″ noodle and a 30″precision. My next is going to be the bull whip. I primarily fish walleyes and and the precision almost feels too light.it is incredibly sensitive but has just enough backbone to hookset a walleye. noodle is awesome for crappie and works for walleye but is also too light. The bull whip is just a beefed up noodle for sight bite walleye. I primarily fish 1/8 spoons and #4 ripping raps. I’ve landed multiple 20-25″walleyes on both rods and they handled the load. But have also lost a few due not being able to bury the hook into the bone in the roof of the mouth on some of the bigger fish. If you want to see the bite with a softer high lighted tip but have backbone to Hookset then bull whip is your choice. If you want to finesse spoons in great detail then precision is your best bet. You will be happy with tucr either way.seriously awesome rods.

Like people have said above, the Bullwhip is primarily a heavier Precision Noodle rod, best for tungsten jigs and small spoons. The Precision rod, is great as an all purpose rod, like the Quicktip(a little lighter than the Precision in action and weight). You can handle any fish on our rods, but landing times may vary. grin It really all depends on what lures/baits you plan to use for each of our rods. Again, the Precision is the go to rod for many, such as myself, also a huge fan of the Quicktip for all purpose as well. You can always message me for more details.

I am guessing when you say trout, that you do not mean lake trout. If you are going for lakers, I have a new commander for that application.

how is the tip on the Precision? is it still light enough to detect bites? i understand its a sight rod. just curious if i sat it down to dead stick for a few minutes if the tip is light enough to do that

Precision being carbon would not work very well as a deadstick to be honest. The tip is not like a BW or a Noodle.
