TUCR Precision Noodle Length

Looking to place an order for a precision noodle and have a couple of questions. First of all, I’m not sure of what length to get. I fish from a 2 man otter quite a bit but also hole hop. I just purchased a 36″ QT and used it in the shanty. It worked ok but may be just a little too long. Secondly, what about the split grip. Does it really help?

    Thanks for your responses.

Split grip is all preference when it comes to a noodle rod, it’s a glass rod so you aren’t going to feel the bites like you would on a graphite rod. If you like the way it sits in your hand with a split grip then do it, but you aren’t missing out on any ‘performance’ or anything by getting a normal handle.

Mines a 32″ split, great inside the otter as well as hole hoping. grip is a personal preference this is my first split and i do really like it.

I use 32” Noodle in my Otter Lodge and hole hopping. When it comes to grip, I prefer split grip for panfish. Because of the light bites and small jigs. Just like Kent said, it all comes down to personal preference.

For noodle/glass rods I actually prefer 32 or shorter. Generally a 28 works good. No advantage to the split grip on a noodle so save your pennies.

I use the 32″ noodle in my one man when needed. As far as the split grip I believe the only advantage would be so you can pistol grip easier.

I fished both a 28″ and 32″ most of the weekend. I much prefer the 32. Both were split grips. One was cork.the other EVA. I believe I prefer the cork. May just take a bit to get use to the EVA

I have two 30″ one is precision rod and one is noodle. Both have the split grip handles. I prefer the split handles over the solid as I like the split grip feel. I fish out of a 1200 otter cabin and 30″ is perfect length for fishing in a portable. I will say this though if you use the otter rod holders they don’t sit in them very well due to the split grip.

I have a 36″ Bullwhip and its a bit to long for me in my Nanook Clam. 32″ would be perfect.
