Ok Guys I know TUCR is really popular here but I am trying to choose between these 2 rods in 32″. Primarily used for light walleye and crappie rod with tingler spoon and 3&4 rippin raps also larger tungsten a possibility. Thank you for your opinions.

I haven’t handled the Rogue, but I do love my Bullwhip. It is my primary crappie rod. I mainly use it for tungsten jigs. I’d recommend getting your hands on both rods to see which one you feel most comfortable with. You can check out a Bullwhip at the TUCR shop in Coon Rapids or at Scheels, Cabela’s, Kabel’s, or Reeds.

Both are awesome rods and are very similar. The bullwhip has a slightly softer tip. The rogue has a smoother transition to the backbone. Kichler custom rods also makes a very similar Power noodle worth checking out

Thank you Dan and PmB. If I was to build one does anybody have a recommendation for a blank looking at a 32″ but would really like a small reel seat instead of bands or tape. Also probably a split grip so I can use it in a rod holder.

At 32″ a DH Aldente blank might be very similar in backbone to a BW, but it will likely have lighter tip. Pretty close to the perfect multi purpose 3mm jig-small spoon rod, in my opinion.

Lefty Thanks for the info. I had a couple 28″ Aldentes I used for a number of years and liked them. Then I fished with a faster tip rod and sold the aldentes. Matt thanks for the link. I joined the group and those rods have the smallest diameter tip i have seen yet. Do they load up fast? will the run the 3 & 4 rippin raps? I bet they are a bear to wrap the tip guide.

haha wrapping the tip guide is always an adventure. The vline blanks load up great – if the tip is a bit too soft you can trim 1/2-1 1/2″ off and slow it down/beef it up

Basskhang Power noodle is a nice bullwhip replica, maybe slightly better imo. The vline blank is very nice also, I’ve built three on that blank and loads up quick.

PMB Could you tell me the guide sizes on the Kichler please. I like the six guide setup and spacing and the size for outside hole hoping.
