i go on vacation in southern ontario in august for two weeks and catch a variety of nice fish-panfish, walleye, bass, ect. we tend to target big bluegills and sunfish and walleyes. our lake structure is mud flats, weed and rock shoals, shallow bays and deeper basins. my dilemma is that in the spring, summer and fall we catch a lot of fish especially panfish but through the ice we really struggle to catch them. we’ve caught one sunfish in the past 5 years of fishing throw the ice. we dont seem to have a problem picking up any other kinds of fish but can’t seem to catch panfish.. any thoughts or advice?

My advice would be to be constantly moving. where I fish it seems like you can catch your limit one day at one spot and then the next you wont feel a bite. My first guess would be to find a shallow weed bed and drill about 40 holes and just jump from hole to hole with your flasher. otherwise try some points and transitions in the deeper parts of the lake.
