Embarrassing story for me but huge shout out to power pro line, VMC moon eye jigs and TUCR LTP for my catch of the day! Long story short accidentally kicked my auger pin and lost auger through the ice. Took about an hour for the mud to settle but managed to hook it and pull it free from the mud. Slowly reeled it to the hole and reached through the nearly 28″ of inch. Couldn’t believe the hook held and saved my day! I am a true VMC believer!

good to hear……send them the pic and story and maybe they comp you some jigs? Guy I work with carries a magnet while fishing and said he has used those to retrieve a bit before.
I carry a small powerful magnet with 40’ of paracord in my rod box

I also carry a Greenadine magnet with a bunch of 550 paracord. I’ve never used it but after seeing a guy lose an auger bit, and switching to a drill set up I figured better safe then sorry.
Got super lucky where I hooked it and had a wire leader on! I did slice the hands a little lining it up and pulling through the hole! I think I’ll start bringing a magnet too!
