Had to get out of the shop for a few days, and headed south to Truman Lake. It was just like home, using the ever so popular shad for bait, along with a seven ott circle hook. No big ones were caught for the two days of fishing, but we ended up with 49 in the boat with the biggest being 15 lbs. We spent both days deploying a drift sock, and drift fishing a nice mile long shelf beside the creek channel. For an hour or so we tied up to a tree along the channel (44 fow) in 23 fow and tried the old reliable pitch and wait method but with no takers. The graphs showed a number of fish on the shelf, but must have been drum or carp. All in all it was a nice few days out of the shop, and may have to do it again if the customers don’t mind in another year.

As a side note to the cat guys, we look forward to carring another line on rods next spring, which I hope will be an added welcome to your rod collections
