Truck w/boat and drive-through?

Is it common courtesy to not take truck w/boat in tow though the drive through?

I have always done this and never saw an issue with it (and never had an issue with others doing it either), but I had some lady start yelling at me yesterday when I was ordering food with my kids in the back seat.

Just curious what others thoughts are on it.

F that lady. I’ll drive my truck and boat through any drive through. Even with my pickup camper in.

Just remember you can’t please everybody.

Should have got out and asked her if she was the boss.

I’ve done it. I see no problem with it other than the worker continually trying to take an order from my empty boat. )

It doesn’t slow anything down… I can’t see why anyone would care.

Haha. I go through the drive through with mine.

I had a guy tell at me two weeks ago at McDonald’s. Apparently 4′ behind his bumper at the drive through and I was “riding his azz” lol.

I have done it and have been yelled at a couple of times for it from other customers. The workers of the places have not said anything. But the people in line must think they are going to have to wait for ever since you have a trailer. I just smile and wave. I think they are more mad at the fact that they know I am going fishing and they are not.

I do it as well. Some drive thru’s are impossible to get through though. Gotta be careful

Look at it this way. If the drive thru’s are a slow there as they are here it just gives them extra time to get your foods

So, it appears my thoughts on it are in line with other fisherman. I don’t plan on changing anything…but good to see my thoughts are not out of line. I really don’t see how it affects anyone in line.

I did let her know what I thought of her comment (later regretted how I handled that part of it)….and I did smile and wave at her when I walked past her on my way inside to get the correct pop.

I guess I’ve never really thought about it but it can’t be that bad can it? I have seen some that are dang near 90 degree turns in a U-shape around the building so that would be tough, but otherwise why not? Especially in today’s divisive world and culture I try and live my life where I don’t negatively affect others and if something someone does doesn’t actually negatively affect me I don’t care either. So honestly taking your rig through the drive-thru doesn’t affect anyone else at all…unless a guy were to get stuck, which I’m sure has happened and will happen again sometime lol.

LOL, yep. Orange Hi-C, ice tea…..I guess they sound similar so it wasn’t that out of line for the mess up. I realized after I went in that they don’t even carry the orange Hi-C anymore…so it made more sense.

I am sure she appreciated my smile and wave!

Did it yesterday with a 14′ trailer loaded with 4-wheelers and I’ll do it again! It does make me laugh when they continually ask my quad what it would like to order. Don’t think 91 octane and mud is on their menu…

If the drive thru is busy, I won’t go through with my boat. I do think it clogs the process with lots of vehicles. So when there are more than one or two other cars, I’ll go inside. Plus I need to pee often, so that gets that accomplished as well.

I do it all the time and never had anyone yell at me. Honestly I wouldn’t know what my reaction would be. Seems a strange thing to get yelled at for.

Agreed….thus my post here in the first place.

It was busy, but the Mora McD’s is usually busy on weekends.

As long as it fits, go for it. I don’t see how it adds to the time. Blow her off.

Some drive throughs may even be made with boats in mind, thinking Happy’s on 169 in Onamia.

When I was in high school, my brothers and I would take the boat through the drive through all the time, except we would have someone in the boat order as well. It always confused the heck out of the employee, but we got a kick out of it.

Does 14 to 20 ft of trailer make it busier

Anyone ever try pulling the boat through a drive through at a Starbucks? That might catch the ire of a few people.

If I was building a business that was going to have a drive through, it damn sure would have one that would Accommodate rigs with trailers and or motor homes
and there would also be a large sign to make sure everyone was aware.
If that upset others, so-be-it,… go across the street!!!

I have done it more times than I can remember. Never had anybody bicker.

Some drive-thru’s are a pain depending on curbs and curves.

I dont see a problem with it. Heck took my boat with to the airport a couple summers ago to drop the folks off. As long as it fits its good to go.

I’ve seen guys get stuck in them before, so I always park and walk in. Having said that, obviously there shouldn’t really be an issue taking a trailer through one unless you’re blocking off something (but any car could do that).

One thing I haven’t done before. Usually when I’m in a rush to get on the water dinner is already in the cooler under ice toast
