Ran the Ridge grapplers on my duramax, loved them! there was a slight road noise in the cab but didn’t notice it if the radio was on at all, or were talking to someone. Handled snow and ice good, and two track muddy type stuff very well. No longer have the truck and can’t give you a long term review though.

Thanks, how long did you run them?

Give Top Shelf tire (Ramsey on HWY 10) a call @ (612) 309-6368. They’ve done great jobs for me in the past.

I ran 2 sets of Nitto Terra Grapplers and just put a set of the g2’s on my current truck. Both sets of the original Terra grapplers went 80k and wore well even on a well used truck.

I put about 12k on them hauling tractors (8n ford size) and skid steers as well as tooling around in places a truck of that size probably has no business being in. They seemed to be wearing well but at 12k they were still pretty fresh. I did love the traction they offered though. They seemed like a slightly harder rubber but seemed to handle ice well but I wouldn’t consider them a winter type tire and who knows how much the weight of a 3/4 ton diesel played into helping with the traction in the winter.

I was a die hard bfg guy with my 2 Dakota’s. Loved em. 08 ram with 20″s were to spendy, so I put on the hankook dynas and I also don’t understand the hype. I put them on in Nov of 2016 and will be replacing them in a month. I got 55000 out of them, they have tread left, but in 23 years of putting 35000 plus miles per year, I’ve never hated a tire more in winter. In my experience they had poor traction with any snow or ice on the road. Just idle speed at stops would spin the tires. I honestly have to put it in 4w to get rolling. That was even brand new. Others may love them, but I will not buy them again. I have used bfg at, Firestone dest, wild country at, Goodyear Wrangler at, and general grabber at2. The hankook were my least favorite.
My cousin loves the Goodyear Wrangler authority tire. He gets around 70000 hwy miles per set. On #3 on his silerado, but those don’t come in a 20″ last time I checked.

How’s the MPG affected by those dynas?
Yukon needs new tires before winter and they run more a stock highway tire now, afraid to go beefier and really hurt the gas wallet more.

Never really noticed a drop. Went with stock size, however. They aren’t all that aggressive compared to other AT tires and they’re incredibly quiet for what they are. I have a slowmaster exhaust on my F-150 now, but I couldn’t hear any more road noise than the wranglers prior to the exhaust install.

I get a kick out of people driving trucks talking tires and including priorities of ride, noise, and gas mileage of a tire. It’s a truck. I want it to haul and have traction first.
Mileage, noise, and ride as a concern in a truck? Cracks me up. laugh

I was looking for better longevity while having better than average snow traction.

For what it’s worth, an acquaintance that owns a repair shop, off roads as a hobby, and hauls heavy trailers, recommended the Cooper AT3s to me, knowing that I want to be able to drive on frozen lakes. A shop employee has two years on a set (raised GMC) and they’ve been good, so far. He also has a set of ATMs on a daily driver as a point of reference.

Time will tell how this turns out. They have to be better than the crappy OEM Goodyears. They are just a bad tire. If someone was coming from that as a point of reference I could see how any tire could be the best thing ever.

I’m leary of buying tires from dealerships. I believe they carry subpar tires.

FYI…Discount Tire in St. Cloud repairs tires for free. They plugged and patched my lawn mower tire free of charge last month.
