I want to buy new tires for my ram 1500. Any one know a good place to get them cheap. The truck has dumb 20 inch rims so tires are pretty spendy. And I’d like to save as much as possible. I prefer to run a tire that tracks through the woods and ditches as much as frozen lakes and snow piles. I usually run good year mud terrains but I’ve always gotten lucky buying used from buddies with 90 percent tread. If any one has a set of rubber PM me. 265/60/20 but will go up to a 285. Or let me know the cheapest place to shop.
    Thank you.

    Discount Tire. Hankook Dynapro ATM.

20″ are getting pretty common, so they aren’t as expensive as they used to be. My “new” truck’s got em, too, and I was a little hesitant because of price, but they’re not as bad as I was initially thinking.

+1…..Discount tire typically does additional sales around most holidays if you aren’t in immediate need….black friday was pretty good last year if I remember right. I just put a set of dynapros on my Ram over labor day

20 inch tires aren’t really that bad on price. Some of these SUV’s have 19 inch or 22 inch. Now those are spending. bawling

I highly recommend Firestone Destination A/T for off road and especially snow traction. The only downside is you’ll only get 50-55k on the. But the traction is phenomenal. They are very quiet too. I’m buying tires this month too. It’ll either be destinations again or Firestone Transforce. Apparently a lot people use them on plow trucks.

I’ve always gotten the best deals at the Firestone in Coon Rapids.

Not sure where you are located but my last 3 sets of tires I bought from M&k tire. He is mobile and does them at your work or home. His prices have been great also.

If you are looking for decent priced aggressive tread without the road noise look at Atturo Trail Blade XT. $100 less per tire than a couple name brands. Great traction, time will tell on mileage. I’d rather replace cheaper tires before they are bald than feel like I need to run them to the bones because they cost so much. Found E rated for my F350 for about $190 a tire on e bay.

Be aware of what the morons at discount tire are trying to sell. They will put the lowest rated tire on a vehicle they can. Be aware of the tire specs.

Just put a set of the hankook dynapro atm on my f350. Seem like a decent tire for the price. Time will tell if they will hold up to the torque and weight.

x10 on the hankook dynapros have the same truck same tire size. they’ve done well on the road and the lake in the winter.

can’t remember what I paid, but it seemed like a good deal at warzechas auto works in Zimmerman. probably about 40 minutes from you.

Another vote for Discount Tire. I’ve bought at least my past 7 sets of tires from them. Michelin, Goodyear, Cooper, Hankook, they are always better on price than any other place. I’ve never experienced the hard sell of cheap tires before. Last time I was there they showed me all my options and even could tell me how many miles, on average their customers are getting on each tire. Then they can calculate $/mile for all of your choices. Ultimately, that’s the best way to get to true cost of each tire.

Bfg k02s for my truck, amazing in every situation ive put them in on my 04 chev. Normal driving, mud, and especially snow. Only down side is they like to throw rocks if you drive any gravel.

Does discount tire have the warranty option that fixes any leaks? Ive gone ntb (now big o) twice because they will remount/balance them when my stupid alloy rims start leaking for free. Some winters all 4 need it…

Does anyone here run Goodyear DuraTracs? They look to be a more agressive tread for the All Terrain class (I’m assuming they’d wear a bit faster than other ATs).

I’ve had good luck with Goodyear tires on all vehicles. I may consider these as a next set on the one older truck that is the ice fishing and plowing machine.

Cooper discoverer at3s are nice tires. I bought 4 online and had ntb put them on last year. Awesome traction.

They do have a warranty option. I’ve only used it once for a nail in the tire. No charge. Free rotations for life of the tire as well. For that matter, they rotated my new truck for free too even though those tires came with the truck.

I run hankook dyna pro atms on the hunting rig as well, I found them on ebay for far cheaper than any other place. Great tread and life of tread. I have 60k on my set now and have at least another year on them. I bought 8 ply for and went on a gmc envoy and it seems the higher ply rating helps with wear? Or they just last forever. I can get a set for 486.00 on ebay in size 245-65-17 which is $80 cheaper than discount tire shipped to my door for free.

Right now I’m partial to Hometown Tires on Roberts St. That’s where I got my Hankooks.

Do I really need to say it? Hankook Dynapro ATM…Discounts pathfinder AT if an off-brand is your thing.

I had a set of Dynapro’s last me 70,000 miles on my old Chevy. They still had some tread left when I sold em but they were beginning to crack.

80% up here in Manitoba run duratracs. Good tire, wears quicker due to soft tread compound.

I run DuraTracs and love them so far. I have 30,000 miles on them right now and are barley worn. I got them at Discount and you will need to rotate often. I rotate every 5000 since its free. They are quite for an aggressive tread not stock quite but they do not hum like others I’ve heard.

How’s the MPG affected by those dynas?
Yukon needs new tires before winter and they run more a stock highway tire now, afraid to go beefier and really hurt the gas wallet more.

I had them on my last truck and really liked them. They were easily the best tire I have used in snow. I lost about 1MPG and had a little more road noise but nothing bad. I had a set of hankook dynapros before that and couldn’t figure out what all the hype was. They just seemed like every other AT tire i’ve had.

I bought a new truck so I will be putting new tires on this fall/early winter. I will either get duratracs again or KO2’s. I think they are the best two tires out there for snow. I’ll probably use Discount Tire.

Thanks for that. In a thread earlier this year I asked about how the ATMs compared to the KO2s in snow and heard crickets.

I’ve loved the traction from previous BFG T/As however they wear so fast that I was looking for other options. I’m due for tires pretty soon and was ready to settle for the ATMs given the hype. Nice to hear from someone that has experienced them both.

I don’t really want to go K02s because of them lasting shorter mileage. Goodyear was mostly off my list because of how crappy their Wrangler SR-A OEM tires have been. Holy cripes that’s a bad tire. The Duratracs option looked better but are freakin expensive in my size, $273 a tire plus the add on costs. Ouch.

Unless someone can swing a deal for me, I might be back to the BFGs.
