Water is warm by me. The gnats are insane. They think your mouth and nostrils are landing strips. Is actually a very good time of the year to catch a “Monster” Brown. I have been with shocking crews a couple of times. When it gets hot like this they typically shock where a small spring or trickle feeds in to the main branch of the waterway. The trout school up there because of the colder water temps and more oxygen in the water there. Downstream of where a spring empties in is “Big Boy” country. Cast past the spring entry point and bring back through tight to where the spring feeds in and you will be rewarded.
