This young man won the annual opening day biggest trout contest sponsored by local Gays Mills businesses. The trout measured 28 inches and 11 pounds. It was caught on a worm below a bobber at the Gays Mills Dam on the Kickapoo River. There were many witnesses and quite the cheering section by the time the kid landed it. I will post later what the kid’s name was.

Justin Dilly is the young mans name. The pic does not do the fish justice. I saw the fish in person and that fish is HUGE! Guess you will have to wait til next year to win the old town tap trout contest Len

Do you think that was a brood fish recently stocked? Or has it been in the stream for quite some time?

Crawford County does NOT stock bows.

Either came up from the wisconsin river or is an escapee from a pond.

No matter where it came from it is huge.
