It mite be a little. But the steering is much easier than hooking it to the main motor and useing the steering wheel. My cousin and I both have 19 ft alum. And 9.9 kickers and his with the straight tiller is much easier to maneuver. And we fish on very rocky lakes were mine is fixed if he hits a rock it can pop up. Were mine goes bye bye. But longer the Handel it mite be more comfortable when running it. Hope this helps you out.
I have a 2020 185 with a tiller kicker and yes, it will be in the way when in use. We always tilt the handle up anyways once we have the speed selected and steer with the bow mount. Works great and have no complaints.
