Trolling rod line recommendations

Is there a line you would say that would work for a trolling rod for walleye to lake trout to coho salmon? I picked up two of these Shakespeare 8,6 line counter combos today for sixty bucks. They seemed pretty nice for the price so I went back and got four more ! Would you just put some good braid on and change floro leaders depending on the species? Thanks

I’m no expert but that size reel looks perfect for braid. Most apps show dive curve for 10 pound braid

Don’t know if you got the 20 or 30. Here are specs on size 20 reel.
    TW20LC 400/20 6.3:1 20.4 1

The the 20 shows holds 400yds of 20lb mono.
this all depends on how deep you are going fish
On my linecounters reels I put mono on first then braid and a leader

I long line and use snap weights for deeper water 35-45fow
Put mono on to help fill the reel then tie on 200 feet not YARDS of (Trolling line: Spiderwire stealth 20lb/6lb diameter, is the best trolling line I’ve ever used – pre IDO web site) and then a leader of 10lb braid or 12lb fluorocarbon. leader is any where from 6-20 feet long.

after the main braid fades I reverse it and can get an extra year or two out of it..

This saves me a lot of waste on line and MONEY !!
Once you get this setup on your reels all you have to do is tie on another 200ft braid to the mono that fills the reels…

I thought Most apps show dive curve for 10 pound Mono not braid..

was not going to reply on this, figured someone else would chime in
Hope this info helps and sure did me…..

For my planerboards I run 20-30# Berkly Big game in solar green.
    I then add 30-50′ of 14# mono.

The solar green color works nice to see your lines against the sun especially if you are using a mast system.

Learn to use snap weights, they make rods set up this way pretty universal form surface down to 30′.

Thanks guys , the reels are size 30 . I put on small roll of 20 lb xt for a backer and on small roll of 20 lb spider wire stelth braid, and then 25 feet of 15 floro . I did this to four rods and it filled them all real good and then they are all identical.
