I just bought a new boat and it came with a minn kota powerdrive with the universal sonar 1. It also came with 2 lowrance elite-5’s. one for the console and one for up front. i have been searching for a couple days now for information on getting the lowrance to work with the motor with no results. is there an adapter cord out there that will work or anything at all?
thanks in advance! anything will help!

Ron, That chart is for the US2 transducer. What Collin needs is for the US1 transducer. The adapter cords are not the same because they use a different number of pins at the connection to the trolling motor cable.

There seems to be a lack of info for the older US1 system.

i emailed minn kota a couple days ago too. this is what they told me

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, our US1 compatibility chart has not been updated since 2006. We have not tested any of the newer model depth finders with our older transducer. You could double check with Lowrance to see if the two work as they know our pin layout and the capabilities of their depth finder goes. The 2nd problem you run into is the US1 adapter cables are no longer available, so if Lowrance states the two would work together, you’d have to attempt to find an adapter cable through a Google search or eBay.

Guess I contact Lowrance and see what they say. Once you know if the sonar and the transducer are compatible, then you can start your search for a adapter cable.

Other wise you may have to update to a newer US2 transducer.

I just went through this but with a Humminbird. Call Motor City Clinic. He might be able to help.

Never felt the US ducers were very good. The one on my current PowerDrive quit working after about year three. Never read bottom in deep water even when it was working.

I went with the stock transducer and mounted it with this bracket. Might be an option for you.
