Hey guys im in need of some help. I have a tr196with a 200 merc. When I’m fishing alone and in getting up to speed the boat leans to the right or my side. I’ve filled the pass side live well and it’s seems better. I talked to the local triton boat dealer. Got great info. They said that its is normal. They told me that I should start trimming the motor up and it should correct its self. Does any one else have this problem? Is this normal? I do not have excessive weight on one side. Ifanything I have more weight on the pass side. Also if I have a passenger it doesn’t do it. Any help would be great.

I had a tr196 bassmaster Classic edition with a 200e tec. I notice when I would take off it would mean a little to one side but after I would plain out and trim the motor up to get going fast she leveled right out. Now I have since sold the boat and I use my brother z20 Comanche for club tournaments and last week I noticed his leaning a bit to until it plains out. However I have heard of guys messing with that little fin above the prop. Maybe that will help. My only problem with my triton was it had some work done to the 200 so it was actually a 225 and it was way to fast and at times scary. When I hit 65/68 mph the boat would chime really bad on the water. The fastest I could go was with 2 buddies in it and a full livewell to keep it steady and we did 74 on the st.croix. Loved that boat but I’ll stick with my express Jon boat now lol.

sounds like the motor is mounted a little cantered. I would check you jack plate to make sure it is squared. We had this exact same issue on a buddy’s rig

Randy you could be spot on with the jack plate. Never thought of that. Mine was a manual plate so I didn’t want to mess with it cause the leaning wasn’t that bad.

I have a TR18 and mine leans the other way ( to the left ) it does flatten out once it is trimmed up. I always thought it was due to the direction the prop turned. I always joke with my passengers about it and say its due to their weight. I guess if it leans towards your side that joke is not as funny !!!! jester

Nitros lean really bad. I used my buddy’s years ago for a tourney and the thing was bad.
