From everything I’ve seen what it costs to heat a home may make that look like nothing by late January/February if we have multiple long cold shots.

…it looks like I’m back to Hamms again for now.

My big truck has a 75 gallon tank the punp shuts off at 150 bucks, I have to double dip the receiver, somewhere in the 200 buck range every 2 days.

Been there. Sucks when it shuts off. Sometimes if you pay inside they have a $300 limit. Only swipe once and only 1 receipt to keep track of for business purposes.

Yeah pretty special….I thought the exact same thing tonight.

My debit card at the pump automatically shut down at $100….and didn’t quite fill my tank.

    Let’s Go Brandon

I remember about a year and a half ago when the pandemic started and gas was down to 99 cents/gallon.

When the president had the economy at a great place. Then people voted in the current idiot. Because the other guy hurt people’s feelings. And we can’t have unhappy people these days.

There is a lot more to remember than just gas. Remember that everything Brandon has done has been bad for this country. Worst president in history and we aren’t even a year in.

But hey at least he doesn’t have mean tweets while he is burning it down.

I just last night watched, “Darkest Hour,” about Winston Churchill during the Nazi takeover of France and plans to attack Great Britain. Man does it put a nation’s leadership into perspective… shock

It was also when the Stay at Home Order was mandated other than for essential reasons.

US average for gas prices the last 10 years.

Higher now than any point of the “Orange” presidency.

I mean I hate Brandon as much as the next guy, but thinking the President has control on gas prices is like thinking the DNR can manage every fish in Mille Lacs. Just not how it works. Refinery Capacity, oil futures, and simple supply vs demand.

Completely agree. Certainly the current President and his administration has at least some control over it, and whatever they’re doing about it is clearly not working.

I’m actually thinking of trying E-85.

My 401(k) was down about 6 figures at that point, that great place wasn’t so great. It’s almost like there are other factors than any one man at a given time….

When one of the first things he did when he took office was inhibiting oil production, yes he does have control over it.

    Umm…what?

He (and his policies) most certainly do have an impact on gas prices.

    Too much CNN being watched…

He does have some impact on gas prices, but the other factors ganderpike mentioned have a larger impact. This is coming from someone who also hates CNN FYI.

Are you saying your 401k lost 6 figures during the trump presidency or lost 6 figures due to the pandemic shutdowns?

Depends on what goalpost we’re kicking at. In some cases it looks folks are all about blaming external factors i.e. “the big picture.” In other cases it seems that folks only blame one specific person.

I have a hard time imagining anyone who watches CNN or FOX has a baseline understanding of economic drivers. You could argue Fed and State taxes applied to retail gas are something maybe controlled by party lines? Otherwise factors like WTI, refinery capacity and storage costs/gal and refinery profiting and even weather are far larger issues.

Gas prices are just one of a myriad of problems that are getting worse by the day. I dont see how any rational person can defend the current administration but then again I never understood how they got there to begin with.

The current administration is not doing much to help. They also cannot be given 100% of fuel cost blame. I wish their policies were more consumer friendly and it pisses me off that they aren’t. I support energy independence and want the US to work for more leverage over global supplies by accessing more here responsibly. The current administration is taking more of a “it’s not our fault” approach while we wait and see just how crazy high things will go. That part is clearly wrong and they deserve heat for it.

However, we can’t cite 99 cent gasoline when the entire economy shut down and the world demand crashed as a target or even a positive that took place during the previous administration. If you think gas selling for 99 cents is a good thing and a sign of a healthy booming economy, you wouldn’t pass middle school economics nor did you pay any attention to what investments, retirement accounts, etc. did as they tanked.

Do not do it! It will be close to a wash because of poor fuel mileage and can cause problems with your fuel system.
