    I have a 2001 crestliner sportfish with 2003 70hp johnson 4stroke.
Everything use to work perfectly….just couple month ago i took it to the minnetonka….trim up and down work good at the ramp…just couple hour after fishing the trim UP won’t work anymore. I don’t know what going on….the trim control at the bow work( UP & DOWN) work at the bow…..i also try the trim at the motor itself (UP & DOWN) works too….

The throttle control only work on the down and not the up anymore…..

what are the chance that it a loose connection problem? could it be fuse? anything you guy experience with?

From the sounds of it you have diagnosed it to be something in the throttle control/trim switch. I would guess the up/down switch is bad. You should be able to test it with an Ohm Meter I would think.

Bingo, Ice hit the nail on the head. Test it but I am guessing the throttle switch is bad.

Sounds like a switch issue to me, which is extremely good news for you. I had to replace the tilt/trim on a 2003 Johnson 70 4 stroke. I spent a month searching for a used one, and that still cost like $500 just for parts. To replace that with new parts is pushing $2500

If it’s working on the bow and the motor itself, it’s the switch or wiring going back to the motor somewhere. I don’t think it’d be in the connection to the trim motor, since your bow switch probably connects in the same place.

Does the throttle switch work in the down position? It very much sounds like a switch issue. The throttle arm has a set screw that needs to be loosed to get access to the switch via taking the arm off.

trim up relay? swap the relays and see if the problem changes to trim down

as others have stated,it sounds like a switch issue, either the wire that feeds the up solenoid has come off of the switch or there is a broken wire where the wire bends with the throttle,or,the upside of the switch itself has come apart where the contacts meet inside of the switch.
