Was able to make it out yesterday with the gf and Dad. I was surprised to see the amount of current in the canal yesterday, it was really going thru quick. I guess I shouldn’t have been with all our rain we’ve had lately. Usually this time of year there isn’t any current at all, only a couple hundred cfs at most, but it was pretty swift yesterday. Crappies were hard to come by with only a couple keepers out of about 25. I also jigged up a 3 1/2 lb flathead, and Sara got a small channel that hit the jig/minnow. Was going to hit Young’s check, but I didn’t feel like driving several miles upstream against the current. I’m real peeved at this big front that came thru late last night and brought all this wind with it. My Dad came down from Omaha and we were going to hit Sebelius all day today, but decided against it. Hope to get out again sometime this week with this nice weather.
