Yup, this is what fishing was like for me Saturday, no joke. This was actually caught this way. I’m still angry. Blew another cabela’s deep cycle battery as well. Do yourself a service by never even looking at them. Probably number 6 or 7 for me in the past 2 years, and now I’m finally out of warranty, so I’m done.

Have heard decent reports from….well, everyone else. Just not outta my boat. Grrr.

Sorry to hear about the tough day on the water. Not that it helps much but we’ve all been in those shoes. Best thing you can do is replace that battery and get back out on the water ASAP. Nothing takes the sting out of a run of bad luck on the water like a great day of fishing. Look at it this way, you’re due.

Sorry to hear about the frustrating day.

Curious, were the Cabela’s Deep Cycles the newer AGM’s?? I was just about to get a couple when I read that they “lightened” them up (weight-wise), even though they claimed same performance….didn’t add up and stayed away to wait for reports……..

Hope things turn around for you on the fishing front.

Thanks guys….and I’m sure that you’re right, James. What a rough day. Think I was still upset yesterday over it. When you see fish everywhere and can’t get them to go, and you know what you’re doing works, it can be very frustrating.

The batteries I speak of are the cabela’s lead acid batteries, not the AGM. I’ve had issues with the AGM too, but the lead acid are horrible. I really hope I can put my battery problems behind me.

Old Style? Hell, I can’t even tell you what it was, and I had it in my hand. I guess I was too irritated by that point to look.
