What safety harness systems do you guys use when you deer hunt? I have a bad habit of not wearing any when deer hunting, but last season my dad fell out of his deer stand. Looking into the best kinds of harnesses, and strap systems. I’m also thinking about making a safety device of my own. If you guys could do me a favor and take a quick survey about tree-stand safety it would help me decide what I want to do.

Get some hss lifelines and hang them where your stands are…connected at all times and you can leave it there…best investment I’ve made

I used to use the Muddy Safeguard. I had it in a tote when I was moving and some gear lube leaked onto it. I went to buy a new one last minute and the only one they had where I was at was the Muddy Magnum Pro.

The Magnum Pro works just fine. It doesn’t have a lot of the features some of the others have, but I wear it underneath my clothes anyways so I just need it to save me if I fall. Don’t really need the binocular holders or accessory clips.

Muddy sells the Safeline that you can attach to the tree. It allows you to always be connected when climbing up and down the stand. it’s just a main line with a prussic knot that you clip into and slid up or down the main line.

I don’t use them often because I do a lot of hang and hunts. It doesn’t make much sense there.

X2 on the hss life line, we put them on all the ladder stands, so quick and easy. I have a Muddy harness, light and comfortable.
