Just wanted to say thanks to the guys that are posting pics. I feel so disconnected from trapping as I sit out here in Colorado. I was out here the week before season started in WI, and I have about 2 more weeks to go before heading home. This is the first time in about 20+ years that I haven’t had traps out by Nov 1st. Granted, I’ve gotten out and did a few things that I normally don’t do every day, but I miss the cold finger numbing water, muddy waders, the smell of the back of my truck, and of coarse, the carcass barrels that my wife reminds me everyday to get rid of from the garage.

Your pics are keeping me in touch with one of my greatest passions and I do appreciate it very much. Please keep them coming regardless of how insignificant they may be to you.

As for the few days that I have been able to get out and hunt here, a short recap for the 3 of us. My goal was to take yotes in 4 states

    WY – 7 coyotes – couple hundred P/dogs

    CO – 19 coyotes – lost track of P/dogs. I’ve shot over 1000 rounds through my 22-250. I figure I’m at 95% at under 250 yrds, 75% at 300 to 400yrds, and around 30% at 500 to 600yrds. Though I did my personal best at 760 yrds.

Nebraska – 4 coyotes. HOLY creek beds did we have a lot of activity. So many glimpses, and encounters but only had 6 come in for a shot. So much more like hunting at home with them staying in very thick cover.

    KS – We blanked……..

Kooty, unless a miricle happens, im out o five a video camera which I do screen captures. We set it up in a pdog colony for some close ups. Somehow we managed to shoot the camera…. I dont have a computer here to see what we already transfered to the sd card from internal memory. Sucks, my nephew shot his first elk cow and we couldnt get it filmed. Same for all the mulies.

I gotta admit, that sounds like something I’d do….
