    Oh man
Found the recipe on the net and decided to try it.
    It is great
Here is the address to the recipe so you guys can enjoy it too.
    Venison Ribs Recipe

    Tips:
    Use a little more vinger
I cooked at lower temps and cooked for a total of 4 hours.
    Meat falls off the bone.
I made all the ribs off my 180 lbs animal. I doubled the recipe and it was just enough.

    Give it a try
    Enjoy guys.

I agree. I just spent $25 on steaks for the family + about 2 hours time and ended up burning them.

*edit* Travel time plus everything else…I didn’t cook them that long…

I would have to agree with this statement…since he could have posted the pic before it was sauce and bones…and invited us all over.

Nice photo anyway Mr. D. Chapmann

Well got started a day late, but Iam not planning on setting a lot of traps yet cause the coon are not completely prime yet but I set 18 Dps and a few box cubbies close to home to see how the coon are coming and to have a little fun but ended up with 3 really nice size coon and a little yearling and a bonus possum. The hides ate getting there one big female was almost all white when I skinned it.

Anything special you want to share about the coon cuffs? My buddy just invested in a dozen of them this year. Great job on getting started!

Just using cat food with fish oil and a marshmallow and a few of them I use cavens midnight runner it’s smells really sweet and 2 coon were in traps with that in it but I think just normal molasis would work just fine.

Some of the coon are getting/ real close . As you can see the coon on the right was a big female and it is looking nice and white compared to the blue coon on the left

Very nice. I only set a few dp’s so far but nothing in them. I did catch a nice coon in a yote set though. He was still a bit blue. I sure wish I could put up fur like that. I AM THE WORLDS WORST FLESHER! May as well practice on the blue ones for now. Any tips?

I laid a goose egg this morning. With these cold nights I have yet to have a hit on a marshmellow and sweet smelling baits. Everything so far is on salmon flavored cat food and fish oil.

Stupid rookie question. What does blue vs. white mean? Less prime I’m assuming?

You got it Kooty. Guard hair or underfur isn’t fully developed. It’s still kinda eary for coon. The picture is a perfect example of how different animals can be in different stages. Boar coon will prime up first. YOY and Females who had kits will be later.

I was skunked today also. I heard a rumor it was suppose to be warming up, and I hope it’s true. Coon dont move a ton when it’s 25 degrees right now.

slow morning again. I ended up with 1 coon a grinner and one trap that was knocked over and tripped. Have some soft ground I am working with and this is the second time I have had one I assume play with it and tip it over. Should I dig it in and pack it in a at a 30-45 degree angle do you think?

What I’ve done that has worked well for me is set the DP the same way you have been. Then take a 1.5 coil and dig it in using the DP as the “bait”. I don’t know your set up but if you need to use some sticks to guide the coon over the 1.5 to get to the DP.
