With the start of the season just around the corner i have been busy dippping traps and getting more excited everyday. it has been 2 years since i was able to run my full line due to college, so i plan on hitting it hard this year. but i do have a question, i have heard rumors that otter trapping has been opened in all of southern mn, is this true? i cant find anything on the DNR website. i know that there are getting to be a lot of otter around here and would like to be sure we can get tags for them.

I’ve never trapped but always been intriqued by it. What does dipping a trap mean?

Dipping traps is applying a coat of dye, that prevents rust and adds a little camo to your trap. Its kind of like the bluing on your shot gun..
