I get a lot of questions on trap placement for for flat sets, post sets, and a favorite of mine – pee sets.
Now that many of us will have snow on the ground, take advantage of seeing what you are looking at. Here is a pic that i think perfectly illustrates “trap placement” when making a pee set.
1. I like sticks or a small bush that protrudes out from a trail. Something that will have visual appeal that they will need to navigate by or around.
2. By paying close attention to tracks, you can quickly identify travel patterns. Are they moving east to west, or south to north,…This will tell you which side of the bush to place your trap.
3. I mention the paw catch (front or rear) for those that like different chain /swivel arrangements specific for a catch
