Well today we had a badger, coon and skunk. Also had a rabbit foot in a no 2 victor coilspring–guess it wasn’t lucky! Here is a pic of the coon in a snare. The first pic of the badger shows him how we found him-the den hole is in the background. Second pic of him is a closeup.

I was expecting to see a HUGE catch circle with the badger
I have only harvested 1 badger in my life (in Colorado). That had to be the toughest animal I ever skinned and I would never do it again

I’ll have to look and see of I can find a picture from a couple years ago. I got a badger in a foothold and it left a hell of a catch circle!

It is the area the animal tears up at the length of the trap chain. With snares you hear the turn spin out or burn out used too.

In my opinion, that’s the best badger there is. I’ve hunted them incidently when out chasing coons around at night. I still get chills thinking about those things when they scream at you after being whacked with a Louisville slugger. It’s funny how fast I get when I’m scared out in the middle of a pasture and lose site of a badger in the tall grass. Usain Bolt has nothing on this kid.
